I truly admire you guys--63 Ahunte 08 12 and the rest--I thought I was THE fan--WRONG !! You folks are the greatest--You are finding good things about a poor team. That is as it should be--We have a couple of good players--Thomas, White and Turk ( who needs to improve on D ) and Osborne who is coming along at his position--We have a GREAT player in DOYLE of course--who will only get better if he does not lose heart--BUT that is about it---Oh ! King could come along with good Big man coaching--but does he have this little item ??

I am sorry but one of you said PM guided us to the Valley as he knows how it goes there. I have seen little of that. Good teams with good Coaches win on the road at least 40% of the time. Better teams win more than 40 % roadies--That is how good and better teams are graded--in my view. We fail ! On the Coach--if we have good players. We have some good players as stated--so the problem falls to the Coaches I think.

Really sad about this --We lost to the LAST place team.

I guess my optimism lies in the fact that this team is substantially better than I expected. Thought we were in for a conf record equal to 2 years ago in the Horizon. However, been pleasantly surprised that the team has been able to compete in more MVC games than I anticipated.

Every offseason, coaches demand that their players elevate their game to one or two levels up. LU goes nowhere until Porter and his staff demand the same of themselves. They'll watch a ton of tape on the games, but I hope they don't forget to critique themselves.

Thanks, Brot.

I'm cautiously optimistic for the future because I think there are pieces that will make us into a pretty good team if they improve. All the losses are painful, but it's pointless to get too upset about it. If nothing else, we get to watch Doyle for three more years.

WSU has been the best road team in the nation over the last 3 years. There were many, many years that we did not win on the road at all. It is something that teams have to learn to do. You can look back at coach Marshall's first years and the road wins were few. The road is brutal and this year some of the perceived weaker teams have elevated their games ie SIU. The Valley has really good coaches and teams are really scouted well. That is why it seems Valley teams do well in post season play because the other team does not know your tendencies but usually the Valley coaches have studied their opponents and know theirs. It is a process and you will know after a couple of years if your staff is up to the task. Good luck except for this next game.

I totally agree with this.

I'm curious what people on this board think of Porter and his long-term fit with Loyola moving forward?

Porter Moser ?? Well, I do not know the finer points of Hoops--nor am I privy to the inner workings of LUC's Admin and its connection to Moser through the AD.
I only know wins and losses--We are not winning enough---PM has brought the team up from being BAD in the HL to --if I may--not so good in the MVC --

This team has lost TOO MANY close games--Better than being routed time after time--BUT--losses none the less. If we are good enough to lose closely, as it were--Why cannot we get over the hump ?? I believe I must blame the Coaches for this.
Also certain teams in Conf are playing much better now--SIU as example--We are not. Maybe its our youth--maybe itw our depth--or MAYBE we just are NOT good enough. All except youth is on our coaches.

BTW except for the N Iowa game , we never quit--Not sure about Cedar Falls--Point for Coaches--They have kept the team UP.

Next year will tell the story. Is PM good enough ?? Jury is out as far as I am concerned---As if I had anything to say about it.

I like Porter. I like his intensity and his recruiting. Next season will be his fourth, and in my opinion that is enough time to get the pieces in place to run his program. We will no longer be a young team and the expectations of all of us should be high. Yes, the MVC to me is an upgrade, but I still feel that we have the potential to beat anyone (or almost) in the league. Hopefully Porter's 2014 recruiting class can step up and help some with bench strength. Does anyone have a feel for Porter's relationship with his players?

I'd love nothing more than for Porter to succeed. Starting over sucks. But I really have a problem with some of the things that have transpired. Porter claims to have learned so much from his time under Majerus at SLU. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it. I want to believe that there is something lost in translation...that these guys will figure it all out with more experience. That said, I've been in "show me" mode since early December. And nothing that i've seen since then has shown me much of a difference.

When we start landing some solid players from Australia/New Zealand, then I'll believe PM really learned a lot from Majerus.
