Baldwin will NEVER come to Loyola even if it was the only school available. This can be traced to how the entire Whitsell staff was terminated.
It was Whitesell's last year of his contract (8th) and he and his staff were showed their offices in the soon to be opened refursbished Norville Center.
This occurred three days before the official opening and press gala.
Once the opening occurred each of the staff was called in individually including Jim Whitesell and given their walking papers.
Loyola did not want the firing of coaches to be the story as it would have interfered with the Norville reopening.
It was a very humiliating experience. This occurred before Steve Watson became AD several months later so it was under the old regime.
However, by that time Grace Calhoun was gone as well.
I'm not sure what you mean by your last paragraph, Streak, but Whitesell was fired by Calhoun only two months into her tenure, and she would stay at Loyola for another 3 years.
