Ryan Young...from Northwestern enters the portal....6"10 240. A real banger inside...not much of a vertical...NU seldom had him outside..but sets a great pick....interesting...
17 mpg 9ppg 4 rebounds per game

Nate, funny you should mention this. Was listening to the 3 Man Weave podcast today and they stated that there were 10 double digit seeds in the NCAA tourney that were top 40 in 3 pt percentage, including Loyola, and they went 0-10. It was an interesting stat and they concluded that you have to be able to bang in the inside and score down low with power 5 teams and not completely rely on 3 point shooting in order to advance. Looking back at our runs it is true as the final four we were able to use Krut and aundre, and the sweet sixteen Krut carried us down low again. We def need someone that is able to score gritty points inside and match physicality with bigger power 5 teams. Know we are in on just about every transfer, looking forward to see who Drew is able to pull.

Interesting that we are in on a decent number of transfer guards. Assuming Braden/Quise return, I have a hard time seeing any of these transfer guards breaking the starting lineup (unless they are more of the wing type). Depth is ALWAYS great, but I wonder how we are selling ourselves to these guys. Tough to say, "go from being a double digits scorer and 'the guy' on your mid-major to a guy off the bench on our mid-major."

It honestly seems like we are just reaching out to basically every good transfer haha. Maybe it's a strategy to get our name associated with all these other major conference programs? And we definitely need a couple big guards. I don't think we need another smaller PG type.

Also have to think about how this affects the guys on the roster too. If I’m an underclassman hoping for playing time next year and I see we’re reaching out to all these guards, I wouldn’t be super happy

I mean, we're going to use our scholarships one way or another.

Our biggest needs are players that have the skill set that WIlliamson had...equal ability to shoot and drive...and play defense....teams at the top have 4 Lucas Williamsons and a mobile big man...
Norris at his size is exceptional..Currently IMO we did not have a center this year...we had 3 guys that did their best and most nights it was good enough.....but I do not think we have anyone on the current roster to replace Williamson and Ugak...I think Norris and Kennedy both know we need two more guards that have some size....guys that can finish at the rim...
I am excited to see how the 3 sophomores will do....Thomas, Schweiger(red shirt Frosh) and Johnson will do....

Yes but we already have a lot of guards. Would rather see what we have in the younger guys as opposed to bringing in a transfer for one year. We should use the two on big men. Currently we only have two players over 6’7 for next year.

Would love to see this guy in Maroon and Gold. I'm not convinced about his defense, but he can put the ball in the net.
