You are correct Mike---I have the press book and those two top our list.

One has to be fairly dense to think that PM will NOT improve our schedule. He shall--and then we must WIN !!

Gosh there are tons of better rated schools out there who would truly like to visit our great campus, I wager.

Re Gonzaga and others----Was all that palaver about Jesuit playing Jesuit just hot air and Media fawning stuff ?? Fr G just might pick up the phone for these schools to get here. eg Gonzaga, Boston College Detroit San Fran Holy Cross Canisius Fordham LUC--------And then if we really wanted to upgrade--GTN St Louis
I wager this could and should be done. Will take some push by the real bosses--THE JESUITS .

If we did something such as that , it might calm some of our critics in the MVC ( Of course thes folk were correct on two counts--lousy pre-con sched--and we LOST the games)

We are a better team now though--so it could work. Throw in one Big 10, a Dayton an E or W Kentucky couple of others and there you are. I wager this can be done.

It's a real shame that there hasn't been anything close to a multi-Jesuit basketball exempt tourney type event, but I think that fact reveals that such talk is mostly hot air. Georgetown won't deign to play Jesuit schools outside its conference. The Jesuit matchups that have emerged have all been based on similar pedigrees (like Creighton, Gonzaga, Xavier, even St. Joes or Canisius, Detroit, Loyola). Back in the C-USA days, Marquette had bigger rivalries with the likes of Memphis, Cincinnati, and Louisville than any other regional Jesuit school. I now believe Loyola's schedule will improve gradually and Detroit seems like a great prospect. But the Jesuit connection is no schedule salvation anymore than regional proximity is. It could matter but guarantees nothing.

I think it's been a hot topic to talk about, but when the scheduling rubber hit the scheduling road, the blue chip schools didn't want take the risk.

In a perfect world a genuine " Jesuit Jam " could be held at Loyola every year with 3 other Jesuit schools. Nothing seems to seperate Jesuit Men's basketball like money. We couldn't even get Creighton to honor a Bracketbuster obligation despite the fact that we had played them in Omaha and our current coach is a Bluejay Alum. It's all about money.

Supposedly, Creighton will be coming into the Boxcar next year. I think they were concerned with our potential RPI the past few years (rightfully so) and didn't want to hurt NCAA chances for McDermott.

Blue Birds ?? I class them right DOWN there with the Warriors Hilltoppers, Golden Eagles or what ever their name is these days--WE played both when each was garbage--and NOW ?? Well as I have said , what starts around comes around. You make commitments --you keep them (Creighton)--

Commitments are hard to keep in this day because sometimes it hurts and most people try to avoid anything that is hard or difficult.
