Its now getting ancient--BUT our stance as the ONLY Illinois team--Di 1--to win the Nat'l Hoops Championship is safe once again. I really wonder if we ever will be replaced on the pedestal. I really doubt it--
WHO has a chance ? Any of the crowd but none have even come close since the GREAT EVENING in 1963--
Only Illinois has shown any spark--and as the ILLINI usually do--they flopped.

I would have to disagree and say that Illinois came pretty darn close in 2005.
