Would not be surprised to see Cody Johnson transfer to a small mid-major with an up and coming coach and a couple of really good guards and lead them to a tournament appearance in 2016-- as we all stew over the missed opportunity.

Add to that, the fact that we will probably still be looking for our tournament appearance. Porter's moves are absolutely mind boggling. I'm extremely worried that we're going to be looking for a new coach in 2 years.

He won't have his go-to "We're young" excuse next year, which even rings pretty hollow this year in light of the fact that one team in the Final Four starts five freshmen.

If this happened, I would be very happy for Cody, but I would be absolutely shocked.

I agree with ahunte.

I liked the fact that Cody played with joy and enthusiasm (when he wasn't getting yanked out of a game and lectured to by Moser for some transgression).

Cody showed flashes of skill. He could shoot the three, and showed good timing with some of his defensive blocks. But I don't think he will ever develop into a difference-maker who would lead a team into the NCAA tournament.

I wish him good luck.

I think Johnson could have been a valuable asset for you guys the next two years IF Moser would play him. He has nice size and a good skill set and I think should have played more. His transfer doesn't surprise me and I was thinking if you lost one it'd be him. At least from the players I'm familiar with. Hopefully the open spots get filled with players that can help you guys.

Cody Johnson could be a strong difference-maker in a conference like the Summit, Big West, Big Sky, etc. (maybe somewhere out west, closer to home). And he was only a sophomore this year. If he takes a year of practice as a D-I transfer and comes back in 2016 as a junior playing 20+ minutes per game, I could see him being a big difference to a team with a hole in the frontcourt.

He had some pretty impressive games here and there, including three consecutive double-digit scoring games against Fordham (11 points, 5 rebounds), Indiana State (15 points, 3 blocks), and Missouri State (10 points on 4-of-5 shooting). Had 8 rebounds against Evansville and 7 against Mississippi State, and got 10 blocks in 23 games despite limited playing time. In a less competitive league, with some good coaching and a lot of court time, I could see him averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds and a block in 20-25 minutes.

It pretty much depends on where he goes. Having MVC experience would be attractive to a lot of coaches in many less competitive leagues.

I've said many times that I'm no evaluator of talent, so what Cody Johnson's ceiling is I really don't know. I liked him and wish he wasn't transferring.

One thing I noticed is that after Moser's press conference complaint about his conditioning, Cody slimmed down considerably towards the tail end of the season. That shows he's coachable and takes his career seriously.

It's a shame about Pickett's season. Hopefully a fresh start (maybe somewhere closer to home like IUPUI with the coach who recruited him) would do him better than playing 6 or 7 minutes at best as a back-up to Keke. Johnson is a loss that hurts us more because PM ABSOLUTELY should've played him more. That said, I wish both Jordan and Cody the best of luck in their future. I don't necessarily think each will become stars (although unlike the other members of the board I think Pickett has the better chance due to his eligibility and potential to grow), but I think they could be solid contributing members on a good basketball team.

However, my patience with Porter is growing thin. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Drake lost one player, we lost 2, and not a single other team in the conference has a player transferring. The first couple of years, I get the fact that some of the players he didn't recruit left. But when you lose the only two players from last year's recruiting class, it looks like a really bad sign for the whole program.

There's still plenty of time for transfers and I'm sure the MVC will see more. Sounds as though ISU may lose Lofton due to attitude issues and some around Wichita think we'll lose reserve forward Derail Green. I haven't heard many rumors elsewhere. Although I thought it sounded like ISUb may have had a transfer, or at least a rumor of one.

Personally, I hate seeing transfers but it seems to be a part of the game and losing one or so a year isn't a killer. I'm not sure the last time we didn't have a transfer at Wichita. But too many years with multiple guys leaving is a red flag.
