Did I miss something, or has the headline of the article I linked to been edited to add a qualifier? (which ruins the whole thing)

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll stop being coy...

Here's another article from the Daily Pennsylvanian about Grace Calhoun's "resignation" which appears to have been edited to include the prefatory "Joke Issue" disclaimer in its headline:

http://www.thedp.com/article/2014/03/pe ... yola-roots

Compare the edited version with the original, cached version:

In my mind, what this editing has done is to transform the situation from an innocent April Fool's prank into a serious matter of censorship and freedom of the press.

Did Calhoun complain to the Penn administration about the April Fool's stories and effectively force the changes upon the student editors?

I don't know, but if she did, and if the University of Pennsylvania community learns of it, they may not have a good first impression of Calhoun's lack of a sense of humor and censorious ways.

Swella, you'll be happy to know that my responses to your post helped fool ahunte. It's always fun being an accomplice in one of your devious acts.

Go, you definitely know how to play the message board game.

I am now on an entirely different tack, however, about the cowardly editing of the stories to include the "Joke Issue" disclaimer which entirely ruins the joke.

I really do wonder if Calhoun had anything to do with it. If she did, it is yet another black mark against her in my book.

I can't believe the student journalists at a prestigious institution like the University of Pennsylvania would cave to administrative pressure from Grace Calhoun. They should be embarrassed.

If the Penn paper just put out the article tomorrow on actual April Fool's Day, it probably could have gone without the caveat.

It's a pretty sly comment on Calhoun's short tenure at LU...

Is it just me, or doesn't Grace Calhoun look a little like Peter Tork of the Monkees?

Until I got to the bottom of the first page of this thread, I was going to ask if her maiden name was Payne
