The Ramblers still have a spot available (probably 2 if you take away Tanner Williams), so the recruiting trail is still imperative, especially to fill some holes in next year's team.

-Rasheed Worrell, a PF who that we offered who decommitted from Appalachian St., is going to Bowling Green.

-Keith Thomas, a JUCO PF out of New York, will cut his list of schools to 2 or 3. The rumor is that we're on the outside looking in. South Florida and Miami are still in (he will visit Miami sometime around the end of the week). St. John's is the local favorite in the game.

-Josh Cunningham out of Morgan Park will announce his commitment today. Although not a Loyola recruit, he is considering 7 schools. St. John's, South Carolina, Creighton, and Iowa St. are apparently on the outside looking in. Cunningham feels more comfortable in the midwest and close to home, which leaves three schools: Indiana, Bradley, and some school in Lincoln Park. If he picks Indiana, it's huge for us because it keeps a top 100 recruit away from a conference rival and 2 city recruiting rivals.

Also, apologies for the double post, but Kevin Punter Jr. (a JUCO guard that we were hot on during the winter) decommitted from Missouri yesterday.

Granted, we're pretty loaded at that position and are probably in the market for more of either a backup point guard or forward. However, if he got a scholarship offer from an SEC school, he must be pretty decent.

Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if Nolan Berry's visit to Loyola will coincide with a Loyola volleyball game.

It would be great atmosphere to show him what it would be like to play at Gentile with a full house.

Wouldn't Porter want to show him the truth? Playing in the Gentile with 15 fans in attendance... (aaaand I just made myself a little sad)

I didn't include because one: there has been no updates on his recruiting for a while, two: his recruiting is considered "wide open", and three: he would have to sit out a year, which is my only negative about him. I'd like to see us really make pushes at players that can come in and play now not in one year.

You do bring up an interesting point. Most schools with football will bring those kids to a football game for their official visit. I believe our volleyball team does that with men's basketball games. But considering the Final four is an "NCAA event", could we get him free tickets that usually goes into a visit? I'm sure there's some obscure NCAA bylaw on the books that would kill that for us.

Also, an interesting tweet from Frank Cusumano, a St. Louis sports reporter:

Does this hurt Porter's chances considering he was one of the lead recruiters on him at SLU?

Is Rasheed Worrell the kid from LA/AL/MS? One of those three? If it's who I'm thinking of he really impressed me by how he went out and recruited schools when he wasn't getting exposure. I think he set up a number of unofficial visits to just about any school that he and his coach/parents could drive to and ended up getting some offers. He visited WSU at one point and I hear he impressed, but wasn't up to the level we were looking for. That may have helped Jans land him at Bowling Green as he had a good time here and the players seemed to like him as well. A hard working young man.

Is it the same kid?

I hope you guys find a PG and another big if you have 2 spots available. Those seem to be the biggest areas of concern if I'm not mistaken.

Keith Thomas news. I guess he and his camp haven't definitively ruled us out, but we have to beat out St. John's, South Florida, Fordham, Wichita St, Wright St., Arizona, and Miami (where he is visiting now). I think the big competition is with St. John's, USF, and Miami.

Plus, we have a new big man target for 2015:

Wichita State no longer has room as we filled our final roster spot last week.

This tweet from Tanner sounds like he's leaving Loyola:
