Matt Gordon and Daniyal Robinson are two of the three assistant coaches.

I'd love to know about recruits, too... considering we have two open scholarships and have missed out on Law and Ulis for next year.

Heard Cully Payine visited Western Michigan

Wish I could help you with your golf.. blind leading the blind and all that

They posted the 2nd Assistant job on the Career site Friday. We're probably a month out from another hire.

Could be a (mostly) lost year with recruiting. I certainly hope not, but it's not looking terribly good.

Seems par for the course...at least according to twitter.

Who's in rehab? Swella?

Who cares? He'll probably transfer from there too.

I have it on good authority that she is bringing on her Papillon took a position as athletic dept. accountant.

Par for the course. We want to hear news and don't find out anything until damn near September. Go figure.

They aren't coming down.

It's because you're turning your hands over. Plus, you aren't keeping your head down. Maybe Swella can set you up with a private lesson with Mr. Grace.

It's the doldrums, for sure.

1. I feel fairly confident that we'll have an impressive assistant added to the slate in a few weeks. (How would you like to be Brandon Miller completing a staff for the first year in the Big East starting in early July?)
2. Beginning in early August, I think most of the non-conference slate will start to dribble out through releases from other teams.
3. By late August (only six weeks from now), we'll know most of the non-conference schedule.
4. I'm comfortable with what we've got going into our first year in the MVC. I'd much rather be us than Illinois State, Missouri State, Drake, or Southern Illinois. I think with the status quo we'll battle with Evansville to avoid a first round game in the MVC Tournament.
5. We already know that this year is going to be a tough one for us, what with the high number of road games we're due to play in.
6. It might be a good time for men's basketball fans to start following some of the other Loyola teams. Our first MVC conference game will be the women's volleyball match against Northern Iowa at the Gentile Arena on September 20. It would be inspiring if we could get the place packed for that match.

I am still incredibly psyched for this upcoming year. We probably won't win a championship, but we'll be extremely competitive in just about every sport we're involved in. Getting into the Top 6 seeds for the MVC Tournament is my goal for this year. A lot will follow from achieving that.

I never let an absence of facts stop me from making a post. Facts only get in the way of telling a good story.

For example...

Look for the Ramblers to sign 2014 5-star prospect Trey Lyles, who will reclassify as a 2013 recruit and be immediately eligible. Lyles will suit up in the Rambler' nonconference opener against Duke, led by transfer Cully Payne, to be played on the aircraft carrier Enterprise anchored in Hong Kong harbor. This will be a test of Loyola's new triangle offense, installed by newly-hired assistant coach Phil Jackson. The starting lineup will be Lyles, 6'4" 210 lb. Keke White, 6'6" 220 lb. Devon Turk, 6'8" 230 lb. Milton Doyle. 6'9" 260 lb. Nick Osborne, and 7'1" 290 lb. Matt O'Leary.

Loyola will go undefeated in nonconference and conference play and meet Butler in the NCAA Tournament Final, with Loyola prevailing 101 to 2. The Ramblers will be the first basketball team to be awarded the Stanley Cup for their achievement.

You forgot to mention that I had replaced PM as head coach. My most famous move was allowing players on the bench to grab hot dogs from the stands as a nod to Cub pitchers in the bullpen.

One legit ? Has Matt Gordon officially been announced as the 2nd Asst?

I hope your basketball budget is sufficient to cover team hot dogs; Grace raised the price to $21.50 per, with condiments extra...
