found this interesting on the bonnies board
http://bonabandwagon.proboards.com/thread/12569/?page=4I was talking, a few months back, to a person that has a connection to the university, and I posed the question of what was going on with Watson. The person whom I was talking to claimed no knowledge of Watson's ongoing job search and offered what was labeled speculation that perhaps Steve was becoming tired of the difficulty of fund raising for athletics at SBU. At that time, I thought I was noticing a lack of momentum with BAF fundraising, including the stalling of the "15 by 16" campaign. I also assumed the fields project was broken into phases because it wasn't progressing and would not happen until a 2nd Tom Marra was unearthed.
I was willing to accept that, but it never quite felt like the complete picture to me since fund raising is a major component of the the AD job. I think that tweet adds a key piece to the puzzle. Without any attempt on my part to assign any blame, I will just say that it is difficult to work for a boss when you don't have a similar outlook and approach to the job. When that happens, you can wait it out and see if the situation changes (or just plain grind your life away), or you can move on. Serial interviewing always indicates the intention to move on.
the tweet he's referring to was the one posted by Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA)
I don't read this as a knock on Watson but there are similarities to the situation he just left and Loyola's don't you think.
