Not a surprise to me. No one around the league has met our mascot yet, and we haven't played a single MVC conference game in any sport. We haven't yet been able to capitalize on MVC excitement to build our fanbase. I'd be a lot more confident in our prospects in three years.
(Again, for those of you who are still dubious about how much our membership in the MVC will light a fire under our fans, just wait. There is a real, genuine passion in this league, and it all culminates in an explosion of school pride mixed with athletics as the MVC takes over a major American city for Arch Madness every March. You won't believe it-- I still feel like we've been promoted from rookie ball to AAA.)
I do agree that Bo Rambler would have fared a bit better, however. Not even the most heartless MVC fan could bring themselves to vote against a lovable hobo...
