A lot of people on this board complained last year about the hike in ticket prices under Calhoun (rightfully so). I am happy to inform you that your voices have been heard (maybe).

Tickets for the last two games have been relatively cheaper. Perhaps the Athletics department finally figured out that they can make larger profits by having more fans in the arena, even though the profit margin per ticket will be lower. The promotion reads: "Ramblers Win, You Win! - With Loyola's win against McKendree, all tickets for the Tulane game are half-price all day Tuesday, November 18"

That's the best promotion I've seen in years. Heck...under Calhoun, the department didn't even make the attempt to pretend to care.

12,

Looks like you're correct. These first two games are among the cheapest of the season, but at least for the majority of games there are $10 GA seats available. Of course, I went to go get tickets for Tulane game and the link to buy tickets is presently down. Here are the single game prices for the year:

Tier 1 (Wichita State, Illinois State)
•Adult: $30 (Gold), $27 (Maroon), $20 (General Admission)
•Youth (4-14): $20 (Gold), $15 (Maroon), $12 (General Admission)

Tier 2 (Tulane, Jackson State, Southern Utah, Bradley, Drake, Evansville, Indiana State, Southern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Missouri State)
•Adult: $22 (Gold), $19 (Maroon), $10 (General Admission)
•Youth (4-14): $15 (Gold), $10 (Maroon), $8 (General Admission)

Tier 3 (Rockhurst, McKendree, Abilene Christian)
•Adult: $17 (Gold), $14 (Maroon), $7 (General Admission)
•Youth (4-14): $12 (Gold), $7 (Maroon), $5 (General Admission)

Maybe some discount if you buy ahead of time. Those numbers are from the website.

Loyola seems to have outsourced the ticket taking/usher function to a private firm. The ushers wore shirts with the company name on it, but I can't recall it.

I guess Southern Utah is a Tier 2 only because it's on a Friday, and Northern Iowa isn't a Tier 1 because it's on a Wednesday.

I hope we're already on the phones working out next year's schedule. I never want to see another schedule ever again where the home non-con games are composed of two non-D1s, one team making their D1 debut, and teams coming off RPIs of 224, 297, and 346. That's a home schedule for a SWAC team. We're never going to build attendance with a non-con schedule like that, regardless of the ticket prices.

There's no reason in the world why we can't at least get schools like Detroit, and Western Michigan on the schedule. Our series with those two schools goes back to the 1920s, and they've been a fixture on our schedules for decades. Then there's a school like St. Louis-- a fellow Jesuit school, a former conference foe, and a school that's played Southern Illinois, Indiana State and Wichita State the past two seasons (and you'd think Porter Moser might be able to get somebody on the phone there).

We should also make a push to get some other A-10 schools on the schedule. Northern Iowa has got Richmond and George Mason playing in Cedar Falls this year, and last year they had VCU there (they're playing at VCU this year). VCU is also playing at Illinois State this year. Hopefully, Steve Watson can use some connections with the A-10 to try and get schools like LaSalle, Dayton, Duquesne (three former conference mates), St. Joseph's and St. Bonaventure for home and homes.

Well from what we've heard already, next season schedule already has some solid home games:
1 @ DePaul Blue Demons Big East
2 Creighton Bluejays Big East
3 Fordham Rams A-10
4 UIC Flames Horizon
5 UTSA Roadrunners C-USA
6
7
8
9
Great Alaska Shootout
Great Alaska Shootout
Great Alaska Shootout

Correct me if I'm wrong, but UIC is a 4 game series, and Fordham owes us a return? Or was last year's game a return for the opening of the renovated Gentile Arena in Porter's first year?

That sounds like they're not banking on too many Loyola victories.
