No it was a great, high pass to CT who Finnished the three point play.

I see what you did there. Is that a thing now?

It feels like this should be a thing.

Swella's MVP is JCT, who predicted a 32 point MSU victory, just 3 off from the actual 35 point spread.

Well done!

Of course this means you are going to have to make predictions for the rest of the season.

Outside of Ramblermania, RamblinRay predicted a 35 point loss

The original prediction was 92-59, but I bumped up Loyola by a point to make it not so depressing.

But I bet you didn't have us with only 14 at halftime.

No, I did have us with exactly 14 in the first half. I just over-estimated Porter's halftime adjustments.

What is the JCT early line on Porter getting fired at the end of this season?

20 bucks say Porter is a goner.

I don't know what that means, but I laughed anyway.

Thank Heavens I was at a meeting at St H this night. You guyus were right and I was REALLY wrong. It was opening night at MSU--We are TOO little--We are going to have to shoot lights out to win hereafter.
I really hope this thrashing does NOT kill our attitude from here forward.

TURK is absent without leave. That is bad. Milton cannot do everything by himself.

San Antonio is not MSU--Thank God !!

If I'm Steve Watson, with previous experience coming into an AD job and successfully replacing an underperforming coach in a moribund program, I think Porter has to finish a minimum of 7th in the league with a first-round tournament win to avoid the hook. Minimum.

The guy is in his 4th season without a hint of genuine progress, and a 7th place finish would likely be a one or two game improvement in conference wins over the previous season. Even counting only his own recruits, the number of transfers out of the program has been unprecedented. The schedules have been unbelieveably terrible. I wouldn't blame him totally for all three assistants leaving at once in 2013, but followed the very next year by four frontcourt players (plus a freshman point guard recruit) leaving all at once should certainly be a red flag. Just think of the investment put in on those player departures-- a combined eight years of scholarship-paid experience wasted, and gone all at once. And in replacing the departing talent, the miscalculations on Marlon Jones and Roosevelt Smart have to be additional red flags.

I really feel bad for the guy now, honestly. I think he truly believes he's a very good head coach, and the seven-plus years of opportunity he's had at two different schools have been sabotaged by disloyal actors or circumstances out of his control. If he were able to take a realistic self-assessment, he'd understand that he could make a great living and be very successful as a top assistant at a big program somewhere-- probably making more money with more job security. I honestly don't think he has the makeup to delegate certain things he needs to in order to succeed at this level, let alone the confidence to hire people better than him in any particular area.
