Thoughts and prayers with the Loyola student that was shot and killed near campus. Absolutely senseless and a terrible reminder of the evil in society.

The murdered student lived a few blocks from me. He was killed a few blocks from me. 99% of the people wandering the street are all good. We all know that terrible things happen everywhere, but it is particularly poignant when bad things happen close by. I hope that the semi-humans that did this deed are caught. I hope that they suffer egregiously (castration, disembowelment, come to mind.). All prayers to the family of the victim. Peace.

It made the morning news on channel 7; It happened in the 1200 block of Albion near the viaduct. Truly sad. I hope they have a moment of silence at the UIC game.

Something I shall NEVER forget--As most of you know, My Son Briit and three other Vanderbilt students were murdered by a suicidal drunk driving the wrong way on I-65 south of Vandy. I say 'murdered " as State Troopers advised me that it was his second try in less than a year--Unfortunately for 4 families he succeeded on his second attempt. The murder weapon was a car rather than a gun. Same sad --sad result.
Prayers will go to the young man;s family and the young man today at St H.

God keep this boy !!!!

This shooting happened about two blocks away from where I live. When I heard there was a shooting I thought there was no way a student was involved. Very sad tragedy and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and the entire Rambler family.

Very, very sad to hear about this senseless loss of life. I'll keep the young man and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

roggirl has always been a proponent of street justice, but in this instance I fully agree with her.

Very sad that some thugs are plying the streets of Rogers Park, a great neighborhood where I lived for many years.

Swella and Rogirl !! When Lor and I were young--had but two kids, Britt and Paula . we rented the upper floor of the usual Chicago TWO FLAT . Our address was 2010 Chase !!! Cripes ! How do I remember that ?? Must be that we truly liked it there. Our land lord had the lower unit. They had Queenie, a German Shepherd--sorry Walter--She was the best baby sitter we ever had !! They played in the back yard and I recall when either went for the gate, Queenie would actually distract them by running circles around them--True story. Of course Queenie liked Paula's dolls and Britt's soldiers--sometimes too much !!! TRUE STORY !!!!

I recall Lor used to like waking the kids to Sheridan Rd and back with other Moms !!
