Last year, UIC brought a couple bus loads of students to Gentile.

Two years ago at UIC our cheerleaders were on the court, and I think our dance team performed.

I was PLENTY loud!

We were flat against Tulane, but looked very focused and intense against the Flames. Our zone defense in particular was very active, and by double teaming the post we kept Weigand (sp.?) in check. The zone did hurt our rebounding, but it was a tradeoff that I think worked to our advantage. Given our lack of height, I figure we'll play zone most of the time this season.

We shot well, and didn't rely on the three ball. Milton is looking more comfortable playing the point. Nice to see Rajala and Richardson get some minutes each. Even London and Cal Kennedy made brief appearances. Knuth did not get in the game again; I wonder if he's in Porter's dog house?

Good point, Robbie. You know what else? We also have the opportunity to build some rivalries with Bradley and Illinois State. All things considered, I think we did a pretty good job getting some people (students and alumni) down to St. Louis for Arch Madness in our first trip there. From the looks of it, we did about as good as Bradley, who's been in the conference since the dawn of time and is 130 miles closer. Last year at the Illinois State game in Normal, there were about 45 identifiable Loyola fans, scattered around the arena. It would be nice to create some packages for ISU and Bradley, with both games happening on a weekend this year.

I'm also surprised we haven't seen Knuth, especially since he looked pretty good at Michigan State. He should be a good rebounder for us.

Knuth ?/ Well , it would APPEAR that he is a tad slow for our new up-tempo and defense schemes. You guys have actually BEEN at the games--me , only the Kent win--but on Stream , when he does get in he seems slower--I would certainly be open to correction on this --Comments ??

You might be right, brot. Since he didn't play against Tulan or UIC, I've only seen him against our non-D1 opponents.

I love this idea... So, why doesn't Loyola do things like this (why didn't they have busses to UIC)? Is it just the money? Does it have to do with the lack of an AD?

I think the Athletic Department is in shambles right now. Remember Grace has been gone for a while now and when she was there from what I can understand she was a hindrance much more than a help. I think everyone is waiting for direction. Frankly I hope the new AD kicks some butt....I think all the coaches are working without the support they deserve. This includes marketing support for the basketball team . Again not one word about the LU-UIC game in my paper out in the NW subs,
Anyway nice win for the Ramblers

Nate , on another thread I mentioned the TOTAL lack of coverage on our intercity game--Well except for ESPN/CHGO cursory affair. We were treated to an article about Marq Coach W--It would appear that from this , a stranger might think both schools--UIC/LUC were based in Tulsa or somewhere.--

Just another reason why Newspapers are failing--

Now then a PR person --salaried--employed by LUC would be nice. His job might be to haunt these "News Organisations" with info and invites-etc.

Now then, also, if we were DePewl or NW, well they of course would and are being covered--

I do NOT accept that there are too many things to cover---eg Cleve has all Chgo has except Hockey--AND the PD and Beacon Journal cover the Columbus NHL Blue Jackets.

The Media's job is among other things , to BOOST all things Chicago. BUT front runners that they are --well, we will have to continue our winning ways, then they will cover us--unless DePewl has a big game against whomever---

Total disgrace !!!

I was disappointed Loyola did not set up busses or some sort of transportation to take us to UIC. I was really thinking about going but the trip there on the L is so long. If there would have been busses I would have went for sure.
