Wichita State is down to #11 in the coaches poll, and Northern Iowa enters at #24. In the new AP Poll, WSU is #11, UNI #23. First time Loyola has ever been in a conference with two teams ranked in Top 25. (I checked... Never in the HL/MCC, even with Xavier, Evansville, Green Bay, Detroit, Butler, UIC and Loyola.)

Through the first 3 1/2 weeks of the season, the MVC is ranked as the #11 conference in the RPI, just behind the American Athletic and a bit ahead of the HL. Five MVC teams are ranked in the Top 100 in RPI: WSU (13), UNI (21), Evansville (83), Loyola (85), and Illinois State (95).

Bradley's top scorer will be out for the conference season opener against us on New Year's Eve.

Missouri State's game last night at Oral Roberts was postponed because of a power failure in Tulsa.

Big games in the MVC this week: Seton Hall at WSU Tuesday, Bradley at Kansas State on Tuesday, Evansville at Belmont on Tuesday, UNI at VCU on Saturday, Illinois State at DePaul on Sunday. MVC vs. HL matchups this week, too: WSU at Detroit and Drake at Green Bay on Saturday.

Wow !! Road wins truly do help RPI---Let us hope we can keep moving in this correct direction--

If only we were bigger, what great team we would have !! We are good now--but ---just a tad more rebounding and we we 'shock--to make a pun , a few people.
Not the Chgo medis=a of course--They are too busy writing about a Duke grad who coaches in Milw and other such tripe.

GO RAMBLERS !!!

Here's another delightful little anomaly. Last year we got incredible grief for being "the team that replaced Creighton." I always thought of us as replacing a team that would move up in the MVC to replace Creighton. UNI has been a great Creighton replacement this year-- they're 8-0 with an RPI at 20 as of today, and a #23 ranking in the AP poll.

But here's the kicker. It's vary early in the season and Creighton is having a down year as they adjust to the loss of Doug McDermott, but as of now Loyola's RPI is 82 and Creighton's RPI is 86.

It's more of a charming irony than a delightful anomaly.

I'd also allow quirky tidbit...

Would it be a delightful anomaly if we draw more fans for the entire season than Creighton does for one game?

The matchup against World-beater Jackson State on the weekend during finals week plus 2 more games against World-beaters Southern Utah and Abilene Christian on the week finals is wrapping up is sure to drag fans to Gentile by the thousands.

Unless I am reading SOS wrong on Pomeroy or just do NOT understand it, our SOS is better than most in our conference--Now then the attendance at Gentile is NOT solely if at all, the problem. People are not showing up because the MEDIA hardly knows us--BUT THEY SHOULD. Students ?? Criminy , maybe they think texting is more fun and easier. I don't know, but whatever, the situation is shameful-- Correcting that could and should be the AD's job.

Our schedule is what it is--We cannot play "Big" teams all the time--Guys on our Board , of ALL people should know this. AND BTW , I would expect that what with our next year's commitments as well as this year's Las Vegas affair, our SOS is bound to rise as we go along.

Bottom Line--Our team is getting really good--I respectfully suggest that the carping re a pretty competitive SOS stop and we get out to Gentile !!!!
