Regardless if it's Quinton Jackson or some other junior college player from Baltimore, this latest signing means that of Porter's last 7 recruits, not ONE has been a high school senior. (Peterson, James, Rajala, Kirby, Adgei, Custer and Jackson/other).
Contrast this with Porter's first 8 recruits (Thomas, Payne, White, Turk, King, Osborne, O'Leary, and Williams), all of whom except Payne were high school seniors.
This definitely looks like a change of recruiting philosophy on Porter's part. It seems to have worked last year with the success of Peterson and James (and Kansas transfer Doyle), but I hope we don't become Transfer U. I find it harder to relate to players who are with Loyola for only a short stint, and transfers often come with unwanted baggage or academic deficiencies.
I agree. The good news is that most of them are eligible for 3+ years.
Rajala - 4 (3 remaining)
Kirby - 3
Adgei - 4
Custer - 3
