I stated earlier,,,I do not want to be Tennessee or Louisville........I also value the education I got at Loyola and that will always come first...as I guess it does for the 16,000 that do not play basketball. What LU has a chance to do , is not become Tennessee or Louisville but become LOYOLA....the school that excels academically and athletically to a very high degree. I also agree with 01, Steve Watson has been here 3 years, two of which were extremely difficult financial years for the University. He extended Porters contract last year for 5years, that is faith without evidence and showed good vision. Steve was also able to get the new practice facility under way.Steve Watson is not Loyal Parks. Steve Watson also left his last school Sr. Bonaventure in pretty good shape. Also to be working out a contract while the team is working towards the Final Four? Yes I understand how athletics can help academics and how academics can help athletics...It is a balancing act and I believe they are going about it the correct way ,you can call it old school, new school, rock n roll school. So here we sit...#1 in graduating athletes IN THE NATION and our basketball team was in THE FINAL FOUR!. Our women's team is making the turn, our two time NATIONAL CHAMPION in volleyball remains competitive etc. I hate to say it,,because I want Coach Moser back, think he is the perfect fit for LU. However I do not think it is or should be the top priority of an already GREAT UNIVERSITY.
