Don't worry, Loyola fans. It doesn't matter what we do, it will never be suffiecient to satisfy some in the MVC.

We could lose every game from here on out, and we'd be accused of being unworthy.

We could win most games from here on out, and we'd be accused of weakening the conference.

Pick your poison. They'll always have the attendance thing to harp on. Attendance is a component of the RPI, isn't it? No? Well then why are we so concerned about something that has nothing to do with............. Oh. I get it. Right.

63 ... I am with you! I must admit I was doing the slow burn after hearing the preseason comments from the MSU pod cast ... made yesterday's victory all the more sweet. I have decided to no longer visit the MVC board ... not worth the aggravation ....

Many of those guys won't be satisfied until you're a top 150 RPI team. Most won't be happy until you're top 100.

True.

Also true. Fans like having more than one team dance in March and will get pissy any time one of the lower RPI teams beat one of the potentially higher ones. It's not just Loyola. Bradley and SIU will be treated the same. And Evansville is always treated that way.

I've talked about attendance before. It's not the only thing, but it is a sign of program stability and financial ability. Not the only thing, but it's there. Also, this is a conference that takes a lot of pride in basketball and support. Many WSU fans hold it over everyone, even though we don't have the largest arena in the conference, we have the best attendance.

Have a better noncon next season and improve your RPI and I'm sure you'll be greeted with less hostility. With that said, that MVC board sucks.

I want to think that I get what they are saying, but shouldn't Missouri State just win their conference games rather than bitch about losing to a lower RPI team? Just my two cents, but considering they are gonna make the teams play the game you might want to consider winning them.

This. Something the MVC has that we just have to adjust to is the false sense of entitlement some schools have.

I agree that us Loyola fans don't really have much to talk about considering Loyola has seemingly abandoned the simple strategy of winning games for the better part of three decades.

None of the other fans are actually mad that Loyola beat MSU, and they certainly don't expect you to roll over and die or to root against your team. What is disheartening is that you didn't hold up your end in the non-con. Winning in the non-con helps the perception of the Valley and helps to propel multiple teams to the dance, which leads to more prestige and money. The money that WSU earned for the final-four last year is as much as some programs entire basketball budget. It's a big deal to Evansville, UNI, and other schools. The hope is that you over-perform in the non-con, or you are what you are and you lose the games to teams that have a shot at a good RPI. It's nothing against Loyola and it has nothing to do with you being new. We will root like hell for you to win every non-con game next year, and if you have some success, we'll cheer you in the conference too.

Best thing to do is to keep winning and keep improving. The Ramblers are sure to humble some teams this year. Be proud of the 30 point blow out!

WU-Wu has tried to explain reasons for idiocy. Sorry, we did not deliberately will ourselves to lose those non-com games. To explain to these who walk among us--We lost those games mainly because we are an extremely YOUNG team. We did not purposely lose them--frustrating as those losses were--It takes time.
Now then I was one of our coach's severest critics--I still am--as he was brought in by LUC administration to WIN---not to keep others happy or sad .
Win he must.
Now then , maybe the MVC might look to themselves--Shockers excepted--( I feel they may win it all) . We mashed an 11-2 team --literally wiped the floor with them--They are at worst the 4th place pre-season pick. The MVC gripers should be mad at them--not us.

One game does not make a season --but I do not feel we are a door mat team as some do think. By this week-end we will be able to tell a lot.

Thirty-two points !! Yuck !
We did poorly in pre-seasno--these guys best get over it. BTW, I wonder if these people are the same ones who despised the Jays for so many years.--You think ??

Who cares about what the other MVC fans think?

As long as the Ramblers keep winning, I'll be happy. :)
