Don't worry, Loyola fans. It doesn't matter what we do, it will never be suffiecient to satisfy some in the MVC.
Many of those guys won't be satisfied until you're a top 150 RPI team. Most won't be happy until you're top 100.

We could lose every game from here on out, and we'd be accused of being unworthy.
True.

We could win most games from here on out, and we'd be accused of weakening the conference.
Also true. Fans like having more than one team dance in March and will get pissy any time one of the lower RPI teams beat one of the potentially higher ones. It's not just Loyola. Bradley and SIU will be treated the same. And Evansville is always treated that way.

Pick your poison. They'll always have the attendance thing to harp on. Attendance is a component of the RPI, isn't it? No? Well then why are we so concerned about something that has nothing to do with............. Oh. I get it. Right.
I've talked about attendance before. It's not the only thing, but it is a sign of program stability and financial ability. Not the only thing, but it's there. Also, this is a conference that takes a lot of pride in basketball and support. Many WSU fans hold it over everyone, even though we don't have the largest arena in the conference, we have the best attendance.
Have a better noncon next season and improve your RPI and I'm sure you'll be greeted with less hostility. With that said, that MVC board sucks.
