Echo of the Drake weekend. Statement win followed by an ugly offensive outing.
Playing to win and then playing not to lose. Tough way to end the season and careers(?) of these kids and yet there is so much to celebrate. I hope the university figures something out if they do move on so we can properly show our appreciation as a fanbase to contribution this team made to the school.
I don't think it was a matter of not playing to lose. They weren't tentative or fearful at all on Saturday. OSU has a smothering defense that has fueled a hot streak for them. They played great defense and it was coupled with Loyola having a bad shooting night. I know this will sound like heresy but I didn't think it was a very good coaching game for Moser.
Loyola should be looking to put some kind of commemoration of this senior group's wins in the rafters. Obviously Krutwig will eventually be up there with the greats from the past. However, I'd love to see something like a big 99 banner with Williamson and Krutwig on it.
If Moser stays, would it be premature to put his name up there as well?
