Men's Soccer continues to roll

Post by goramblers2011 »

With last night's 2-0 shutout of Northwestern, the Ramblers move to 9-3-3. It was their 4th straight win and ran their unbeaten streak to 7 games. Senior goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski set the all-time LUC shut record.

The Ramblers now have victories this season over DePaul (3-0), UIC (1-0) and Northwestern (2-0). They have two remaining regular season games (vs Drake and @SIU-E) before the MVC tournament.

That's pretty impressive. Before the game, Northwestern's RPI was 35 and Loyola's RPI was 93. The Ramblers also tied Butler, who was ranked earlier in the year and still has an RPI in the 30s.

The men's soccer team was eliminated in the semifinals by SIUE on penalty kicks. This is less than a week after the women's team lost in the final on PKs. Very tough losses! The men's team finishes with a 10-4-5 record, and defender Eric Schoendorf won the MVC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards.
